Wall-Mounted Fan or Tripod Fan/Exhaust Fan? Understand the Differences

A common question when closing a quote: install a fixed wall fan, or go with a mobile tripod setup? Before comparing, an important clarification: a tripod isn't a fan model, it's an accessory that attaches to the EV line fans/exhaust fans (EV 60 and EV 80) to make them mobile.

AP 60 Wall-Mounted Fan: reach and stability

Installed at 2.5 meters height, the AP 60 has a reach of up to 20 meters and an airflow of 125 m³/min, ideal for covering a fixed, wide area, such as a production line, a metalworking shop, or a carpentry shop. Being fixed, it doesn't take up floor space and can't be knocked over or accidentally moved.

  • Best for: fixed heat points or particle concentration.
  • Advantage: permanent installation, without taking up usable circulation area.
  • Note: requires position planning before installation (not easy to relocate afterward).

EV 60 / EV 80 with tripod: mobility on demand

The EV 60 and EV 80 models are dual-function fans/exhaust fans. When mounted on the tripod accessory (instead of fixed to a wall or column), they gain full mobility to go wherever the work is happening, today at one workbench, tomorrow in another wing of the warehouse, without any construction work or fixed electrical installation.

  • Best for: variable work points, maintenance, temporary events.
  • Advantage: zero installation, ready for immediate use at any nearby power point.
  • Note: takes up physical floor space and may need to be relocated as the layout changes.

Still unsure?

A practical rule: if the same spot in the warehouse needs ventilation every day, the fixed AP 60 pays off more in the long run. If the need moves around frequently, the EV 60/EV 80 with tripod is worth the investment in flexibility, and it still works as an exhaust fan when the need is to renew the air, not just circulate it. Many industries use both setups combined. Want help deciding what makes the most sense for your case? Just reach out.
