How to Choose the Ideal Industrial Fan for Your Environment
Choosing the wrong industrial fan is expensive: it causes thermal discomfort, wastes energy, and still doesn't solve the warehouse's ventilation problem. Before comparing prices, it's worth understanding four factors that really determine which model works for your environment.
1. What airflow do you actually need?
Airflow (measured in m³/min) indicates how much air the fan moves. Larger environments, high ceilings, or high heat generation (such as foundries, carpentry shops, and textile mills) require higher real airflow, not just the number printed on the box. That's why IPT certification matters: it guarantees the promised airflow is the delivered airflow.
2. Is the ventilation point fixed or does it change often?
If the airflow need is always in the same spot (for example, a welding station or a cutting line), a wall-mounted fan like the AP 60 is the most efficient option, installed at 2.5m height with a reach of up to 20 meters. But if the operation moves around (maintenance, events, internal construction work), an EV 60 or EV 80 fan/exhaust fan mounted on a tripod (an accessory, not a separate model) delivers the mobility a wall unit can't. We compare both setups in detail in this article.
3. Does the environment have suspended particles?
Metalworking shops, carpentry shops, and textile industries deal with dust, sawdust, and lint in the air, which requires blades and materials resistant to wear. Ignoring this detail shortens the equipment's lifespan and increases maintenance.
4. What voltage is available at the installation site?
Confirm whether the power point is single-phase or three-phase before closing the purchase. Models like Sixion's AP 60 already come ready for 220/380V, avoiding electrical rework.
In short
Real airflow, mobility, particle resistance, and electrical compatibility are the four factors that decide whether an industrial fan will solve the problem, or just push air from one side to the other. If you'd like help sizing the right model for your warehouse, just request a quote.
